Inspired by the Japanese concept Komorebi (木漏れ日), which describes sunlight filtering through tree canopies, Earth | Tree explores architecture as a sensory and bodily experience rooted in nature. The installation draws from the universal human impulse to seek shelter, evoking the feeling of standing beneath a tree, protected and calm.
This pace emerges through the interaction between materials, light, and the human body. Wood and brick are selected for their tactile and cultural significance: wood introduces warmth, scent, and a connection to the forest, while brick anchors the installation in a long-standing building tradition. Together, these materials create a dialogue between natural and constructed environments, shaped by light, shadow, and air.
Visitors engage with textures, shifting light conditions, and subtle atmospheric qualities, experiencing architecture through movement and perception. A central aspect of the project is participation and making. Through interactive elements such as sand landscapes, wooden blocks, and miniature bricks, the installation encourages visitors to shape their own environments.
