A Micro Home is intended to be a flexible solution, but the area constraint poses a problem that prompts designers to create minimal and enclosed objects, limiting the house’s capabilities and amenities for the user. Regardless of the 25m2 limit, the micro home should have generous spaces. The “25m2” house seeks dynamic, efficient, and transformable spaces, without limiting activities and creating different atmospheres. When multiple houses come together, we aim to nurture the community by sharing the space between the house modules.
The traditional conception of the house makes the spaces and activities appear limited, crowded, and monotonous, especially in a micro home. The “25m2” house has an open plan for users to occupy as they see fit, a space to meditate, discuss, project, paint, dance. etc. The open plan has 11m2 that can have multiple uses and eliminates the need for aisles. That area added to the utility space and furniture area results in a 13m2 sleeping area, 14m2 kitchen, 13m2 living room, workspace or private office, and a 5m2 bathroom. Resulting in a “45 m2” home within the walls of a 3.8m x6.5m Micro Home.
