Located within the historic Valmy Barracks, the project proposes transforming a former military site into a cultural hub dedicated to the circus arts. The design respects the heritage symmetry and classical order of the barracks while introducing a contemporary architectural language defined by a fluid, undulating façade that evokes rhythm and movement. The circular motif, central to the concept, shapes the museum and performance spaces, symbolizing continuity, freedom, and the dynamic nature of the circus.
The proposal establishes a dialogue between tradition and innovation, merging the historical rigor of the site with the expressive and itinerant spirit of the circus. The design reinterprets the rooflines and façades of the existing ensemble with a subtle yet distinct geometry, creating a cohesive visual identity for this new cultural landmark.
